Ben Simmons and Seth Curry Strengthen Each Other With Video Game

Ben Simmons and Seth Curry answered the Philadelphia 76ers call of duty in Game 5. Literally.

Simmons and Curry led the Sixers in their one-sided war against the Washington Wizards on Wednesday to advance to the second round. Simmons had a triple-double of 19 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, while Curry dealt with the clubs with 30 points, missing just seven of his 17 shots.

They intensified in the absence of injured Joel Embiid and their impressive performance can be attributed to a Call of Duty match before Game 5. According to ESPN, during their session, Simmons challenged Curry to score 30 points and send the Sixers to the next round. For his part, Simmons said he would get a triple-double.

Well, don’t you say?

Hearing this, Sixers coach Doc Rivers couldn’t help but play a joke.

“It’s clear that Seth is listening to Ben, so we’ll be using Ben as the translator for Seth from now on.”

Simmons, who has been criticized every series by Sixers fans, rose to the challenge and filled the void left by Embiid, who remains daily due to knee pain. Many berated Simmons for his lack of scoring, but the former Rookie of the Year showed in Game 5 that he doesn’t need to score big to impact the game. Curry, meanwhile, enjoyed his exit from the series after failing to score more than 15 points in each of the first four games.

With the Sixers facing the Atlanta Hawks in the second round, it’s clear what their strategy should be: play more Call of Duty.
