It’s a good weekend to stay indoors and download video games. While the real Black Friday won’t take place for a week or so, PlayStation and Xbox are already running virtual Black Friday sales in their respective online stores, so you can get inexpensive games without queuing at Wal-Mart. Although not explicitly part of a Black Friday Sale, Nintendo’s eShop also has some cool downloads for November.
Black Friday Deals in the Xbox Games Store
Microsoft’s Black Friday discounts are available until November 22. Here are my personal picks from the global list, which you can browse here.
Halo: Master Chief Collection: Discover the history of Halo before Halo Infinite Dec. 8 release date. This pack contains remastered versions of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4 for only $ 20.
Far cry 6: With a massive map, great combat and an interesting storyline about the revolution on a tropical island, this open-world first-person game features the biggest pet in video game history: the legendary revolutionary punk rock chicken. Chicharron! Far cry 6 is only about a month old and you can pick up for $ 40.
Assassin’s Creed Pack: If you want Assassin’s Creed, this package is a ridiculously good deal. It contains the three most recent Assassin’s Creed Games (Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins) for $ 47.99, that’s easily 300 hours of great gameplay for less than the price of a single new title.
Lawn mowing simulator: I haven’t played this game, but the bizarre premise is intriguing. I probably wouldn’t pay full price to ‘experience the beauty and detail of great British countryside mowing’ but it went from $ 29.99 to $ 22.49 so maybe I’ll give it a try.
Black Friday Deals on PlayStation Store
Play station Black Friday bargains start on November 19 and end on November 29. Take a look at my choices:
Death loop; This first-person shooter is winning rave reviews for its intense action and time-looped storyline. It is only a few months old and it is on sale at half price. (To note: It is not known if the PS Store has not yet updated its list to reflect the selling price, or Death loopHalf-price offer applies to the physical version only. If so, you can order the disc inexpensively at Amazon.)
Madden NFL 22: This soccer simulator is a must-buy title for sports players to buy every year, and it’s actually worth the annual purchase, especially at half the price. (Note: Madden’s pricing is really weird. Download Playstation 5 Madden is listed at $ 50, down from $ 100. Downloading on PlayStation 4 costs $ 29.99, down $ 60. Retail PS5 version is $ 70, on sale for $ 39.)
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR: Skyrim is so good, i want to play it in vr even though vr gives me blinding headaches. It’s only $20, too much.
Infinite ground: Abstract puzzle game Ground was among the most unique games on the PlayStation 2, and this reboot brings it back in all of its weird, trippy glory. The plus: virtual reality is added to the mix. You can try it out for just nine dollars.
Nintendo online store
Nintendo has always done things differently, including Black Friday. The Big N has announced some interesting real world deals, but on Nintendo eShop, it seems to be business as usual. But there are still some great deals to be had in November:
Tropic 6: I have been addicted to simulations since Sim city 2000 sucked in a month of my life, and I love Tropico’s take on the genre: you’re the ruler of a banana republic that can rule you over a stolen fiefdom or an iron fist. The Switch edition costs less than $ 30.
Yoga Master: Nintendo’s motion controls and its success “in every home” have resulted in the release of tons of inexplicable titles that seem aimed at gamer moms. i have no idea if Yoga Master It’s a good game or a good exercise routine, but it’s only $ 18, so I’ll give it a namaste.
Crysis remastered trilogy: In 2007, having a PC that could work Crisis at full specs was the ultimate gaming flex. A Nintendo Wii would have made the audience laugh. These fools wouldn’t laugh now if they saw you running Crisis, Crisis 2, and Crisis 3 on your Switch, however, especially when you only paid $ 40 for all three.
