Although this is a relatively new cast of characters, the theme of family unity plays a huge role in the identity of Children of Morta. The game itself is a retro roguelike with Diablo-like items, but that’s just the bare minimum of the game’s description. The fighter, ranger, and mage classes are there, but in the guise of family members instead of random adventurers.

Between dungeon runs and boss battles, the player is taken back to the Bergson mansion, where each of the family members can be seen contributing in their own way to fighting corruption or simply living in the huge house. Sometimes it’s the subtle things that tell the story the most.
